My eldest daughter, Megan, requested that I update my profile. She is now 26 and living with her partner in London. They left Melbourne, Australia in May of 2005 and spent 3 months touring family and friends in America before starting their 2 year stint in the UK. Interestingly enough her partner, Kel, flies back to NJ regularly with his job! Unfortunately he doesn't get to see much past Parsippany and Pfitzer. My husband, Mark, and I moved south of Sydney at the beginning of 2005 to be closer to his work and to ease my commute to university. Our younger daughter still lives in Sydney and is 19. I do hope this satisfies Megan.

Hi, Folks! I can't believe it's almost 30 years. Did you hear that loud "whooosh"? It was the sound of time flying by.

After graduation, I went straight to work where I did everything from insurance to construction, but during those times I was still working at home collecting old and vintage textiles and wearing out sewing machines. So I'm home still making and selling my quilts, teddy bears, and my heirloom sewing. It keeps me quite busy. I've recently rented a storefront and with a few antiques connections, I'm about to become a businessowner. Maybe by the time you read this, I'll have decided on what to call the place.

Aside from that, I'm still married to John, my li'l egghead engineer. We celebrated our 25th anniversary last year as I'm sure many of you have. No kids, just three dogs (2 Westies and a Scotty) that we spoil like children, and an old house in New Brunswick that we've been restoring since the day we bought it...a labor of love.

That's it for me...feel free to write. I'll write back. Wanna chat? ICQ is 35340014 But you'll have to send me an authorization request first. Make sure you tell me who you are. I won't authorize strangers.

Be well...

Hi everyone! Figured it was time for an update from my '02 bio. So here I stand at the top of the hill looking down to the other side. The view is fine, thank you. For those of you who are new to the page, a very quick update. A degree in Music led to one job interview in '79 at the ripe old age of 22 at Pemberton Twp.High School in Jersey and there I remain. I teach Vocal and Choral Music all day long and it's a blast! It's an Abbott district with an urban-rural feel and a real ethnic melting pot.I love the kids and they love me back and the rewards have been totally amazing.

On the personal side, I met my husband Mitch in '80, we married in '87 and my daughter Arielle turns 15 tomorrow and my son Jordan turns 13 in March. Mitch runs the sleep disorders center at Princeton Hospital.

I have touched base with some over the past few years additionally I do run into people from time to time. It is nice to know that everyone is so successful and well preserved! Thanks to Sue Weisz B. for keeping us all informed. She is one terrific lady.

My best to all of the class of '74.

I have lived in Jakarta, Indonesia for the past 9 years. Prior to Indonesia, my wife (Rhona) and I lived in Israel for 4 years, Boston for 1 year, and India for 3 years. That takes us back to 1985 when we left northern Vermont and headed overseas to work on the international school circuit. Following high school I lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan and graduated from University of Michigan in 1980. Rhona and I moved to Vermont from Michigan and lived the blissful rural life for five years.

Our two boys - Corey (just turned 15) and Jared (9) have been brought up overseas in the international school scene.

I'm currently the Middle School Principal at Jakarta International School. We are one of the largest international schools - 2500 students K-12. Students from over 65 countries with approximate 30% of our students from the US. I feel fortunate to have a great job in a great school! It's been a fascinating experience full of challenges. Political events in Indonesia over the years as well as more recent world events have effected my life in a variety of ways.

As I write I've just returned from a 12 day trip to an incredible area of Indonesia called Sulawesi. An impressive combination of cultural experiences in the mountains combined with several days of superb diving - our family hobby! We've been fortunate to have some amazing opportunities throughout our years overseas.

Each summer we return to the US for 4 to 6 weeks. We have a small house (cottage) in the Lake George, New York area that serves as a base of summer operations! I do hope to attend the next HPHS reunion if the timing works out! I've enjoyed renewing contacts with some folks in recent years. Having spent 18 years in HP there are many shared memories with classmates from HPHS.

I moved to San Francisco in 1976, and spent the disco age as a single woman in SF. I think I have forgotten most of it. To many dead brain cells.

I went back to college in my mid 80's and got a degree in Computer Information Systems and released the geek within. I now work (to many hour a day) for a software development company, PeopleSoft. I married another computer professional in 1986. We left the big city and live in the suburbs. We have 2 children. The older one has just hit his teens. I don't remember being that nasty as a teenager, but then I have forgotten the disco age.

There is not much more to say. It's basically work and family, family and work. When I get some spare time I love to read and do diy projects around the house.

I have many, many vivid high school memories, almost all of them fond. Friends of mind have a hard time believing how idyllic HPHS sounds when I describe it. Although all of us were going through the standard (and not-so-standard) adolescent growing pains, I do think we were extremely lucky to have been around so many bright, creative and downright good people.

As for me: After HPHS, I went to Amherst College, where I was a drama/English lit major. This meant I didn't have to work too hard, and got to spend most of my time in the theatre or cutting classes. I had a terrific four years at college, but really wasted most of the opportunities to challenge myself intellectually. After Amherst, I went to Yale School of Drama, hoping to become the next Meryl Streep. It was three of the worst years of my life. Not only was New Haven ugly and unsafe (I was tied up in my apartment at gunpoint my first year there), but I was never one of the school "stars" and, as such, never got the good roles. Nevertheless, I survived my three years, mostly by hanging out with law students and PhD candidates in the English department.

I spent a couple of years living the life of the regional theatre actor, bouncing around from Baltimore to Syracuse to Philadelphia to Seattle. While I loved doing the shows (mostly Moliere and Shakespeare), I never liked living out of suitcases and having to leave home (NYC) six months of the year. My agents kept telling me that, being a character actor and not a leading man type, my career was not going to really jump start until I was in my mid-30's. Unfortunately, I had little patience and just wasn't ready to wait ten years for a career.

At the same time, the AIDS epidemic had begun to ravage New York City. Having come out my sophomore year in college, (a personal move that seems to have surprised absolutely no one. In fact, I think if I'd been straight it would have raised many more eyebrows...) I was eager to do my part as a volunteer. I started working with Gay Men's Health Crisis in NYC in 1983, a very challenging and exciting time to be doing AIDS work. I was totally won over by the organization and the work. So much so, that when they offered me a full time job as Assistant Coordinator of their Crisis Intervention Services, I told my agents that I planned to take a one-year break from acting. They were tremendously supportive and told me that when I was ready to resume a professional acting career to just call them. The call has never been made.

I stayed at GMHC for another four years, completed a Masters Degree in Public Health at Columbia, worked for a couple of years with National Hemophilia Foundation and re-located to Seattle in 1990.

I've continued doing AIDS work in Seattle ever since. For five years, I was Education Director at Northwest AIDS Foundation (the Seattle equivalent of GMHC) and since 1995 have worked for the local health department managing the federal Ryan White CARE Act funds that come into the county and conducting HIV-related assessment projects. I'm also a Guest Lecturer at the University of Washington's Graduate School of Public Affairs. I really, really love the city and my work and just about everything else about being here.

Since 1991, I've been partnered to a wonderful man (also named Jeff - adorably or unfortunately, depending on one's perspective). We have three daughters from his previous marriage, all of whom I treasure and feel very close to. Brittney is 26 and finished up her tenure in the Peace Corps in Cameroon this May; Ingrid, 24, graduated Central Washington University last June and is working for an academic books publisher and Deidre (19)is in her second year of college and is interning with Senator Maria Cantwell's staff in Seattle. We have a nice little house that we just re-modeled, a special needs dog named Sophie that we rescued from the pound a couple of years ago and Lester, our brand new kitten.

Besides my family, my biggest passions have turned out to women's basketball (Go Huskies!), Mariners baseball and food. If I didn't have a quirky metabolism I'd probably weigh 300 pounds. I occasionally venture back into theatre, but haven't trod the boards in a couple of years.

So that's me. I'm still basically the same person as I was at HPHS, with much shorter hair, a goatee and two tattoos. I'm excited about our upcoming reunion. Can't wait to see you all!

Hello to Everyone. After HS I attended the U of Tennessee at Chattanooga for three years, returned to HP to be closer to my dad, who passed in ’77 and attended University College at Rutgers, 165 credits no degree. I began as an intern for a real estate investment firm and settled there for 16 years, selling apartment complexes and shopping centers. From there I did some consulting work for the government and then onto Wall Street to consult on Collateral Mortgage Backed Securities. By 96’ I hated what I had been doing and made a “quality of life” change and got involved with computer networks and design. I have never been happier. Pay for play as I call it. Formerly at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield as project coordinator in the IS department. Well I have finally gotten to the point of starting yet another company, The Help Desk in Hunterdon, LLC.

I was married for 6 years and have two wonderful children, Justin 17 and Leah 16 (going on 26). Ahh yes the wonderful world of teenagers. Both are in high school, my son is a senior and filling out his college Apps. ahhh where to go ??? His choices are unlimited, as his hard work has paid off. My daughter a sophomore, dating a senior, is doing great, her competitive cheerleading team came in 3th in the US.

Update, my son was accepted into George Washington, and will start there this Fall.

Hello Highland Park friends. As some of you may know, I graduated a bit early and began my growing up journey living in Israel to make life interesting for me and my folks before entering my years of college. At William Smith College I studied all those marketable subjects like, poetry, philosophy and religion. All of this heady stuff lead me to making art and studying painting, ceramics and anything I could get my hands on. I studied art in California and went to Washington University in St. Louis and got my MFA degree in 1983. I moved to the Big Apple and got into the publishing field to support my living and working in a studio downtown on Wall Street as an artist in New York. Alas, in 1987, I met my husband while on vacation with my Mom in the Bahamas. We very soon got engaged and married in 1988. I thought to myself, how novel. Instead of living with someone for years and breaking up, why not just smoosh in with someone and make a life. We did and we have two children and at the present a loving cat named Moocho. Rachel is now twelve and going into 7th grade next year. She's already reading "The Pearl" and Jesse, our son who is nine is going into the 4th grade. As you all can imagine, life with children brings up a flood of memories of Highland Park going way back to the JCC Nursery School with classmates like Jeff Natter.

We've lived in Bangor Maine for about four years. Sometimes we feel banished, other times we feel blessed. I still paint and will continue studying next Fall at the University. My husband, Jeffrey Barkin is a physician and he keeps me on my toes and out of trouble.I look forward to hearing from any of my friends and hope I do. Big hugs and kisses to Gayle, the Piano Lady. I have given out my husband's e-mail because of porno/junk problems with mine. He'll forward them over to me. Best wishes to all. Joan B.

What a great idea. I came across this page by accident and it was like a trip down memory lane! After graduating HPHS in 1974, I got my undergraduate and law degree at Temple University. Practiced real estate law in the Philadelphia area for awhile and then went into New Home Construction with my brother Ted (class of 80?). We built homes primarily in East Brunswick and North Brunswick. Got married (20 yrs. now divorced) and have two of the most wonderful children in the world, Jordan-12 and Haley-8. I now own a Title Insurance Agency in suburban Philadelphis which I enjoy. My favorite jobs are coaching my kids in the many travel sports teams that they play on. As a bonus they both do extremely well in school. It would be great hearing from some of my old high school friends and classmates. Sounds like many of you are also enjoying great lives!! I only lived in Highland Park for 6 years but it was a great place to live, with many fond memories.

Well, let's see...before I get started telling my life story I'd like to say what a wonderful time I had at the 30th reunion. It was so great to see my fellow classmates and I'm so very happy that I came. I have my husband Carl to thank for that, he insisted that I go and told me that I would regret it forever if I didn't. Now, let's see, after graduation I worked at Rutgers for a few years as a secretary, then I was a correction officer at clinton prison for women for a year before going back to secretarial work. I met my first husband through work, I worked in NJ and he in Ohio, we got married in 1978, had a son Robert in 1979, and divorced in 1980. I moved back to NJ for a short time before moving to Texas where I met my husband, Carl. We moved to Corpus Christi, got married in 1983 and had another son, TJ in 1985. I decided to go to RN school in 1992 at DelMar College, graduated in 1996 and worked at a hospital in Corpus until 2000 when we moved to Gonzale! s, TX. Gonzales is a very historical town and we bought a 100 year old house which we are in the process of restoring. I am the Director of Nursing at Memorial Hospital here, which is a rural hospital consisting of 37 beds, and we are a Level IV trauma center. Carl and I have been married 21 years this past June, my son Robert is now 25 and TJ will be 19 in September. We have two dogs, a black lab named Buddy and a bassett hound named Lucy.

After graduating from Drexel University it took me only three years to go back to school for my Chef's degree. I worked in Philadelphia for a short time before getting married and moving west in 1983. We settled in Marin County, CA where I still live. My career in Foods lasted longer than my first marriage. After baking at a number of places, I settled at Sweet Thing Bakery, as manager of their production facility for 10 years. During that time I got married to my present husband, Tadd. We have three Chihuahua's. Margarita, who's 15, her daughter Chilidawg is 12, and our last one Gizmo, was a surprise who came along just 5 years ago. Hard to believe!

After leaving Sweet Things Bakery, I tinkered around baking at other bakeries in the area, and did consulting work for small bakeries. I also started my own Children's Fantasy Wear business. It was the right thing at the right time but unfortunatly I came east and was in two bad car accidents(not the same visit) and was unable to keep up with demand. (Don't expect me at any reunions- my lawyer advises me to stay out of New Jersey.)

Presently I'm working as the bookkeeper for Sweetmill Foods, a dessert distributor. Tadd has been with the company since it's inception 25 years ago. Can you guess how we met? At this time he is taking over ownership of the business. It's bittersweet because the present owner is dying of cancer.

I also do private child care. The kids are where my heart is really at. On the worst of days an hour with a child can put the world back in perspective.

LIFE'S TOO UNCERTAIN, EAT DESSERTS FIRST!

Hello everyone! It's so nice to hear about you all. As for myself, here it goes: Upon highschool graduation, I was a stay-at-home mom while raising my daughter, Bernadette. After three years of staying at home, I became employed at Revlon as a secretary, word processing/computer operator.

I then became a stay-at-home mom once again, raising my daughter and my son, Bernadette & Joseph. While raising my two children (for the most part alone) I obtained a court reporting degree from the Cittone Institute in Edison, New Jersey. Upon graduation thereof, I became a freelance court reporter, where I worked for many courts (grand juries) through various agencies, attorneys, government agencies, etc., for over 10 years, in both New York and New Jersey. Currently, I am the official court reporter for the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor.

Eight months ago I became a grandmother to a wonderful and absolutely gorgeous grandson, Tyler. He is the love of my life!

I am very happy with life right now, and have a very rewarding job. I feel very lucky.

Again, it is nice to hear from you all. Hope to hear from you personally on my e-mail.

Hello All. I am amazed by those I have heard from just by putting a posting on this site about our upcoming reunion plans.

I am jotting down email addresses as I get them so that when reunion time comes we will be able to contact you. If you are in touch with anyone else, please send me their contact info.

After high school I went to Douglass College and graduated with a BS in Health and Physical Education. I taught health for 1 year in the HP Middle School and then got riffed because of budget cuts. Best thing that could have happened. I really didn't like teaching health to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. I have been the Asistant Director of Recreation at Livingston College, Rutgers University since 1981. Looking forward to getting my 25 years in and retiring in 2006 if all goes well.

I married Mike Beaudrow HP class of '71 in June of 1978. We have one daughter, Ashley, who will be 10 April 2002.

I wold love to hear from anyone to catch up and hopefully, if not sooner, we will get together in 2004 for our 30th. Any suggestions on what to do, when to do it, where to do it, etc. will be passed on to the committee once we get up and running this summer. If you would like to be on the committee, let me know that.
