What have I been up to over the past thirty years.... by Albie Saltiel (almost as tough as those "what I did over the summer essays"). I'll be brief but not because I haven't been an over acheiver. After college, medical school, residency, and a fellowship (17 years), I finally completed training in Pediatric Critical Care. I moved to the Tampa-St.Pete and I'm proud to say, I've accomplished alot professionally and personally...and I'm sure this stuff would look great on my college application! But I'm most proud of the woman I've been married to since 1985 (Debbie, a native Californian) and our two incredibly beautiful (no thanks to me) and gifted (ok...I had something to do with that) children, Lauren and Alexander. I'm about twenty years from retiring because I can't sit still. Time for myself?..Oh sure. Most free time is spent traveling around Florida for kids to play in tennis and chess tournaments. Both are ranked players and they are competing nationally. OK! ...so I'm a proud dad (as if that word doesn't bowl you over). Anyway, I have alot of fond memories of HPHS, and would enjoy hearing from alumni.

After graduating from High School, I attended Philadelphia College of Art. After two years there, I was told I had no talent, was wasting my father's money and should leave the school. (I'm not kidding...) So, I transferred to Rutgers and got into the Urban Studies Department. I graduated in June of 1977, got married in July and moved to Tucson in October. I had two girls - Meghann, 23 and Abbie, 21 and then adopted Kevin from Korea, now 16, and Philip from Flagstaff, AZ, now 14. I got divorced in 1991 and was single for about 9 years. I met and married a great guy, named Max in 1999 and thought I was settling into a nice comfortable life in the 'burbs. WRONG! My daughter Meghann had 3 little girls in quick succession, one of which is severely disabled. Max and I are raising the middle child who is two. So, it's back to diapers and daycare! She's either going to keep us young or kill us. My youngest granddaughter has been adopted.
I'm still working at the City of Tucson - almost 18 years now! I am working in the Rezoning Section and I like what I'm doing. It's not nearly as interesting as some of the things I've read that others are doing though! I'm impressed!
I've started my own business as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and I enjoy having that extra income and the new friends I've made. I enjoyed all the pictures of this last reunion. I wish I could have been there, but being a "new mom" again kind of got in the way of being able to travel.

I've been living in Wisconsin since attending the U of Wi. Married w/2 stepdaugters and a 13 yo son. Have been an R.N. for 15 yrs or so. Come bck to H.P. area about once a year to visit my parents and sis. Still playing Ice Hockey. Live on a medium sized lake which is great for fishing according to my husband.I prefer eating the fish,after he has cleaned and cooked them!!Hope to see everyone atthe upcoming reunion.

After graduating from Syracuse in 1976, I lived in upstate NY for about 14 years. Finally came to my senses and moved south to the Atlanta, Ga area. After divorcing, I met a wonderful "southern boy" and not only married him, but retired. I now spend my time volunteering and playing as much tennis as I can. I have a 23 year old son with a degree in astro-physics from UCLA, an adopted 27 year old daughter and two step-children.
I've never been happier in my life and can't wait to come up for the reunion.

Well I have been busy. I am an R.N. for almost 27 years. I have worked over 18 of thoses in critial care and have worked open heart units. I was married in 1986 and moved to Chicago and love this city. I have been married 17 years and have 2 children. Mary is 11 and Danny is 9. Mary is my gifited child. Danny is my most involved child. You see he has muscular dystrophy. I have not worked since he was born. My nursing has come in with dealing with all his doctors.He has taught us allot about ourselves. I am active in Republican politics, help out at school and am on an advocaty board for children with special needs. I will not be there for the reunion but hope everyone is doing well.

My oldest is in high school and my younger one is just finishing 5th grade this June. My husband works in the basement. His work was taking him down here more often than not, so we decided to transfer. Love the area.

I just perused the fotos of the 30th reunion. Man are you a bunch of old farts! Lots of good laughs. Those who care probably know what's up with me, but here's a summary. I married HS sweetheart Lisa Heikoff in '76, had two dughters, now 23 and 20 (both gorgeous, talented, smart, blah blah blah), had my mid-life crisis at the ripe old age of 28, got divorced, married a punk 7 years my younger, got rid of the bitch, "connected" with Karen Osborne at a party, she moved out to be with me in San Francisco, we got married and have been living life together for the past 15 years.
I was trained as an Opera Singer and persued that for 10 years until some buddies and I formed an A Cappella group that became somewhat successful (check out the web site). Still doing that, unbelievably, after 14 years. Looking for a new life at this point. KO and I are trying to start a non-profit intentional community. Interested? What's important? Nature, good food, good times, good music, animals and plants. Tides up - gotta go kayaking... see ya!

Greetings, old HPHS schoolmates. I live in the northwest part of Orlando and have been at my current job for 18 years. I review large development projects for transportation and environmental impacts and make recommendations to local governments for mitigation requirements. I went to the University of Wisconsin (Go Badgers) and then went into the Peace Corps in Liberia for a couple of years. Graduate school in planning was at Texas A&M University (don't let your kids go there)and then work in Florida. My folks are in the same house on 9th Avenue and we go up there when we can. Gabrielle (my awesome wife) and I have three kids...Rachel is 13, Paige is 11 and Nathan is 8. I'm looking forward to the reunion!

graduated rutgers college in 77 vanderbilt medical school in 81 residency in ophthalmology in 85...Now divorced with my 10 yo daughter who lives with me fulltime. We spend summers and whenever we can get away in lake tahoe where we have a second home. I have practiced ophthalmology since 85 moving to florida from phoenix in 89. I am always amazed to here about the achievements of my fello alumni. My mother whom many might have had as an english teacher is alive and well in delray beach florida.

I got a degree in Occupational Therapy. As Medicare laws were changing so was my love for my profession. I fought the changes in Washington and Baltimore with limited success. The success was not great enough to keep me interested in providing services as it is currently dictated. So, I changed professions. I am now a professional fundraiser for The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community Center in NYC. We provide education and after school programs to 13-21 year olds, run voter registration program, lecture series, counciling for adults and provide meeting space for outside community groups. About 6000 people come to the Center weekly.
On a more personal note, I am in a 13 year relationship with my domestic partner. She is an elected NYS supreme court judge. As I guess you can guess, my household is very profession driven.

I have been married for almost 25 years. We have three kids and three grankids. Right now I am a stay at Mom. But I keep busy. I am the Membership Chairman for the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I am also a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and AMVETS. My husband John just became a State Officer for the Department of New Hampshire of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also the Commander of our POST in Rochester. We travel all over the United States. This August we are heading for San Antonio Texas. I volunteer for a organization called Victims Inc. We help people who have had some form of Tramua in there life. I also work BINGO for the our VFW Post. So even though I said I am a Housewife I stay busy. I hope to see alot of you.

I can't believe it's been 30 years. I've been married for 26 of them, with 3 almost grown daughters (22, 20, and 17). My husband Michael and I live in Coral Springs Florida for the past 9 years. Before that we were living up in Bergen County NJ since the 70's. We met our freshman year at Ohio University. I'm a full time high school substitute teacher, and love every minute of it. My school has 4300 students in it, larger than some colleges!! For fun we like to travel, especially out to Colorado where we would like to move to in the next few years. Unfortunately we are unable to make it to the reunion, but I will be thinking about everyone that day.

After graduating from Smith College, I worked in theatre and actually made a living at it for about six years. Then taught some and entered Rutgers Law School in 1983. Lived in Manhattan 1978-86. Moved to Mpls. after law school, worked with a national firm for 31/2 years before joining the DA's office. Got married, prosecuted sex crimes and murder for 11 years, 2 years as chief deputy and was appointed Judge by Jesse Ventura in October 2000. Two sons ages 6 and 7.

I cannot believe that I graduated highschool 30 years ago. Life has been great, thank g-d. I have been married for 26 years.. My husband, Irv is an ophthalmologist at the Rand Eye Institute in Pompano Beach, Florida. He attended Wesleyan Univ.(Class of 73) in conn and then went to Yeshiva University, Albert Einstein for medical school.(Class of 77) continued his residencies at Montefiore, Georgetown and NYU and has been practicing about 21 years. He is the best husband and father in the whole world. We have three fabulous kids, Lauren, 23, Lisa, 19 and David 12 and a half soon to have his Bar Mitzvah in Feb. Lauren graduated from Tufts and is now going into her second year of law school at Tulane; Lisa is going into her second year at New York University/Tisch and david is going into 7th grade at Donna Klein Jewish Academy. he is a competitive tennis player. I attended Lesley College(class of 1977)for special education and worked for a short time with autistic and severly learning disabled children. I have been very active in all the schools the kids attended and am a Life Member of Hadassah and a Life Member of National Council of Jewish Women. I have my own cruise business that I have been building for the past 7 years. I love planning vacations for people. I have a special certification, Master Cruise Counselor thru the Cruise Lines International Association; CLIA. I specialize in Royal Caribbean,Celebrity, Crystal, Radisson 7 Seas, and Silverseas cruise lines. According to CLIA, "Cruising is the Best Vacation." The company is owned by my brother, Ronny (Ron), Class of 74. It is called TourMasters, Inc. It is a wholesale tour company for Russia, Baltics, Scandinavia and south America. I created the Cruise Division which I run. For exercise, I have played club tennis for the past several years, Palm Beach county division 6 which is like a B-2 team. I love it. I would say our favorite family vacation was going to Israel two years ago when lauren was going to Israel for her second semester of her Junior year at tufts.She attended hebrew University and lived inthe the Rechavia neighborhood. We were there for about two and a half weeks for winter vacation. Hoping to return next summer. My ultimate favorite annual vacation is our trip out to Vail every March. Irv attends an Ophthalmology meeting with Johns Hopkins. the girls have not been able to come with us since they were in 7th grade. This will be David's last year too. Living in South Florida for 21 years has made us fair weather skiiers.
It is such a disappointment to me that I will not be able to attend the reunion. Even though I am unable to be there I know what goes into planning such an event and want to thank Roe and Marty for all their efforts. Roe sent me an email and she summed it up for me. I am in "Rennovation Hell." We are in the middle of a total house rennovation and we were supposed to be done by now. We love our location and so after living in one house for almost 17 years, we had to update. I hope that anyone planning to come to Boca would contact me via my email.I would love to see my classmates, especially if you live in the area.
It was great reading everyone's notes on this web page. All those lucky ones who will be at reunion, I am jealous. I wish I could be there. Have a great time. Wishing everyone good health and happiness. I have very fond memories of my three years at HPHS. It was very special.

I've been working hard for a computer company that specializes in data security. To offset a serious case of workaholism, I took some time off to become a tour guide. More recently, I've gotten into nature photography and become a botany buff, all while continuing to work in computers. I am married and have two daughters, aged 13 and 17.
I'm anxious to hear what the rest of the class has been up to. Just for the fun of it, I tried to track some of you down via Internet.

I own and run a very succesful daycare here. For those of you that remeber my mom she passed away 3 years ago. we all still miss her dearly.

Hello everyone,
Been thinking about Highland Park High School lately, after attending my oldest son's high school graduation this week. What was amazing was it was probably exactly the opposite of our graduation. No caps and gowns (just blue jeans and white t-shirts), no Pomp and Circumstance, etc, etc. But it was emotional for a parent, just the same!
I've been living in Israel since 1981 (with a 6 year break when we were in HP from 1986). I've been married 22 years to Noam and we have 3 wonderful boys, Tal (19), Ilan (15) and Nadav (11). I'm a speech pathologist and work part-time with developmentally delayed children. Had great fun at the last two reunions and really enjoyed connecting with everyone.

Since 1979, I've worked for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and currently work on the Society's national fundraising programs, particularly as they relate to the Society's web site. My wife Fran and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in November 2001, and we live in East Brunswick, New Jersey with our three children: David, 20; Emily, 14 and Ariel, 10. Planning our 25th & 30th reunions was a blast! Could not have done it without Marty's help - thank you again!
I've been living in the LA area for 20 years. Married to Peter Abrahamson, a Special Effects Designer for 12 years. We have a 10 year old daughter, Cassidy. Peter is a robot builder and has been competing since the sport's inception. You may have seen his robots on episodes of "Robot Wars", "Battelbots", "Friends", "The Dru Carey Show", "Judging Amy" or "CSI". Cassidy now competes in Sozbot (a 16 oz. robot competition). She was the first female and youngest competitor (at age 8) to enter the mini robot sport. For those of you with mechanically talented children, I suggest checking out Sozbots.com.
I am still active on the PTA Board and as a Girl Scout Leader. Two years ago I discovered a new passion. I fell in love with the orphans in Tijuana, Mexico. I have been fund-raising for a grassroots organization called Kids International Foundation and making monthly trips to three of the 50+ orphanages in Tijuana. These kids may look happy and healthy but believe me, their living conditions are appalling!
Peter is working on "Mask II" which will shoot in Australia and Cassidy and I are looking forward to visiting him in Sydney for three weeks over winter break.

Hey guys...my older brother Kelly ('71) showed me this page...we moved away to WV after my sophomore year..after graduating with a class of 93 seniors,I attended a small college there and acquired a Surveying degree and was briefly married 2 years...then met my second wife and married in 1980, have 2 kids, moved to Florida in 1988 and have been working in road construction ever since. Since graduating med school in 1981, I completed my residency in OB-GYN and practiced in Baltimore through 1998. Then, with my lovely wife Dena and our five children, Beth, Josh, Tova, Aaron, and Aliza, we made Aliyah to Israel. I currently continue practicing and am senior medical consultant for E and C Medical Intelligience. This company makes software for OB-GYN Departments in the U.S. While I do not anticipate attending the upcoming 30th reunion, I wish all continued success in their endeavors and much health and happiness.
