Since graduation from HPHS, I attended Ithaca College for undergraduate and graduate degrees, married my music professor, Steve Brown, and have been employed by the Ithaca City School District as a speech therapist and now, assistant principal at Ithaca High School for a total of 26 years. As a result of Steve's love of jazz (guitar), I have been fortunate enough to have traveled all over the world.
We have two children, Miles, 24, a graduate student of classical and jazz bass at the Mannes College in New York City and a daughter, Randi, 21, a third year biology student at Boston University. I am still friendly with Beechie and my children have visited Highland Park many times on the way to the beach!

Rumors of a reunion for September 2005 prompted a google search and found this site. I might attend this time. Graduated Boston University Medical School, got married, moved to California all in 1976. 24 years of private practice in gastroenterology. Three great children, ages 25, 23, 19. Hectic but wonderful life. Reading, word puzzles, golf, and tennis keep me busy. Please tell me retirement is just around the corner.

It's been a long time - where to start? For work, I'm an organizational psychologist (Ph.D. from University of Michigan - Irwin, I'm a die-hard Zingerman's fan. Have a sandwich for me!). I'm presently the chair of the Psychology Department at the Kaye College of Education in Beer Sheva and I also work a little in the Behavioral Sciences Department at Ben Gurion University and consult from time to time. I'm also involved in developing, and helping others develop, e-learning courses and and teach several on-line courses in the college. For living style, I'm a member of Kibbbutz Erez (a kibbutz near the Gaza strip) in Israel. For fun, I make functional wheel thrown pottery, go sailing with Reuven (my long-term partner), and destroy monsters in computer games.
I'd love to hear from any of you who get to my side of the world.

After graduating from Rutgers in 1974 I fulfilled my dream of leaving NJ and moved to Miami!!!! No more winters for me!!!! Armed with a degree in Elem Ed I enjoyed experiencing many varied careers, none of which have been in that field. Joel and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary in December, 2002. We have 2 daughters who of course make us very proud:one just finished her 1st year at college and the other will be starting her 1st year in high school. I love living here in South Florida but Highland Park was a great town to grow up in.I miss Carol Danab. Does anyone know where she is???? It's time for another reunion!!!!!

After attending Michigan State University, and living in Boston and Chapel Hill, NC, Joe and I are back in HP since 1983. I went back to school part-time and got an MA from the Jewish Theological Seminary, and I'm now working on a doctorate there. I'm also busy as an officer at our synagogue, and trying to keep up with our daughter, who will be a member of the HPHS Class of 2004. Does anyone else think it's time to start planning another reunion for our class?? I'm ready if you are--let me know!

This is an update to what I wrote just about two years ago. I live in Silver Spring, Maryland, about 20 minutes north of D.C. My husband, Bill, has been retired (for 3 years) from teaching elementary school (for 30 years). I'll be retiring at the end of the 2005-06 school year. I'll have taught physical education at the same middle school for my entire career (not counting the 2 years of battle duty as a substitute). My daughter, Mandy will be finishing at Shippensburg University, in PA, the same time I retire. Would love to hear from you - I'd like to find other folks in the D.C. area!!

Thirty plus years...I just turned fifty this month!
Graduated from University of Pittsburgh in 1974, and decided on a whim to move to San Francisco. I've been living in the SF bay area since. I've taught developmentally disabled adults, but had to make a living, so worked in insurance and construction. Now sell real estate.
I was married for six years, no children. Currently in a long term relationship with Freydoon (Fred), a photographer.
That's it in a nutshell. would like to travel more and work less.

(The URL is not of a personal page, but of a profile that appeared in U Penn's alumni magazine last year because of something I did - which, ironically, was heavily influenced by growing up in HP.) I left HP for Philadelphia for U Penn and stayed these many years, using it as a home-base. After 20+ years in Executive Search consulting, I took a break and worked for a large philanthropic foundation, and then returned to the for-profit side, where I am now with Towers Perrin, a global management consulting firm. My daughter, Julia, is now 22 and working in D.C. after graduating from Brown in '02. (Given how much trouble I gave my parents, I'm still amazed at how little she has given me!)
In any case, would love to hear from classmates: while those were pretty good years, it's taken Time to really appreciate what a unique place it was then.

After getting my PhD in Zoology from UMass, I worked for 2 years in a research position at U. Penn. I then joined the pharmaceutical industry, and "retired" after 18 years when Pfizer bought Warner-Lambert. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse!
After 2 years of consulting, I am now Associate Executive Director of the Drug Information Association in Horsham, PA. (I commute weekely from Michigan.)
I love Ann Arbor and have become a diehard Wolverine fan. I'm married and have a daugher in High School and 2 grown stepchildren.

What an amazing day! I was speaking at a seminar and met a woman we all went high school with!! She told me about this website and here I am.
I moved to Philly after college and just never left. I have had an active career as a paralegal, then paralegal administrator and now managing a the philly office of a D.C. staffing company. Its been a really cool ride and I still can't believe we've all been out of school this long....Irwin, how the heck are you?? Weel, I can't wait to go home tonight and pull out the yearbooks. What a fun discovery to find this link........and familiar names ! I graduated from Glassboro State and got my MBA from Pace University. I've been in the financial services industry for 25 years on the compliance side of the business, currently enjoying the Times Square location of Morgan Stanley. I was married for nearly 12 years to a wonderful man who passed away suddenly in 1996. No kids by choice, and I am currently getting ready to sell my house and move back into the city after too many years of commuting. High everyone, Pat Conover and i got married and have 2 children and 2 grandsons[twins] they are the light of our eyes. We have a small farm with cows and goats on 12 acres. I was a police officer in south jersey befor moving here 15 years ago. Iwas involved in martial arts and taught my son at the age of 5 who became N.J. State grandchampion. A very proud moment. He then retired from competition. Kevin jr is now 29 yrs old married with our grandsons Sean And Scott. Our daughter attended ECU and went to work for Walt Disney in entertainment. It was great because we were able to go to all of the parks for free. KImberly did this for 5 years then went back to school,she is now the proud owner and president of her own resturant in Elizabeth City N.C. As far as Pat and i we enjoy our animals and our 2 English bulldogs. I went to school for I.S. Machine computer drive and have been doing the job for 15years here. I have enjoyed it and Made a very profitable income.Pat is a Manager with Wal-Mart and enjoys her job, she gets to meet a lot of interesting type people as she tells me of her time at work. God Bless her for her patience. I know she wants to write something also and i am not very good on this kind of computer. So i hope to here from some of the KIDS from the past.

I am the single mother of three teenage sons, the oldest studying journalism and communications at Quinnipiac University. The other two keep me busy with AA Travel Ice Hockey and anything else they can possibly cram into their schedules to further simplify my life! Needless to say, I have become a devoted hockey fan! I am assistant to the CEO/Chairman of the Board of a large bank. I love to spend my spare (??) time waverunning, snowmobiling, skiing, traveling, and enjoying my favorite pastime, which is being a beach bum. I just can't believe we are all 50 years old, it seems like yesterday we were all back at HP. Would love to have another reunion!

Here's my brief bio. Debbie (Rottman) Cohn told me to check out this site. I left HP and went to college at Duke University in Durham, NC, and have stayed south since then. I went to medical school, became a psychiatrist, and most of my career I have worked for the state of NC in a mid-level administrative position in one of our state hospitals. Last year I resigned after 16 years, and now have a part-time private practice and work for my county the rest of the time. I have been in a committed relationship with my partner, Grace, for 12 years, and we adopted two daughters, who are now 8 and 15. I'd love to hear from any other gay/lesbian alumni.

Hi Alumni, Its been a long time since I saw a grad of old HPHS. Life flies by rapidly. Ive been a registered nurse for, gosh, 23 years working in the field of psychiatry. Graduated from El Centro College, Dallas, Texas. Moved back to New Jersey but settled in the Delaware Valley, Hubby Tom being a Philadelphian. Currently working atthe Princeton Medical Center in behavioral health as an admission nurse and supervisor. Spent many years in Philadelphia working as a nurse at Friends Hospital, Medical College of Pa and then in NJ at Hampton Hospital.Tom is also a nurse but wishes he could be a scientist..well we have another fifty years left, dont we? 2 kids, Camille 16 and Brandon 21. My next career will be back to my original plan..a painter. Oh well, have fun all and carry on!Ive heard from a few other grads not listed on here, all equally successful. Drop me a line, thanks!

Worked as Exec. Secretary, married Jack in 1976, have 2 children, Paul, 22, and Sara, 19. Have been homemaker since 1980 and now volunteer on church committees and at a local food pantry. Jack has private law practice and is a Brig. General in the Air National Guard. Have traveled to Bermuda, Hawaii, Caribbean and Canada, as well as to several states. Lived in Mesa, Arizona for 4 yrs. while Jack did active duty stint in the Air Force, which he owed from ROTC. I have taken computer courses and hope to return to the work force and get paid for my efforts! We are big Yankees fans and own 4 seats in right field for all the home Sunday games, and had the great fortune to be present at David Cone's perfect game and at Game 4 of the 2001 World Series! Paul Plaganis began his railroad career in 1972 with the Penn Central, a CSX predecessor, and served in a number of different position in the Transportation Department, including Freight Agent and Traffic Control System Operator. During this period, he has held several elected positions with his union, the Transportation -Communications - Intl. - Union (TCU). In 1982, Paul was elected to his local's Protective Committee and has since held the office of Vice President, State Legislative Representative, and District Chairperson. In 1994, Paul received his Bachelor of Arts in Labor Studies from the George Meany Center for Labor Studies/Antioch University. In August of 1996, Paul received a Master of Arts in Labor Studies and Public Policy from Empire State College (SUNY). Currently, Paul is an adjunct instructor for the Cornell University Labor Studies Program in Albany, N.Y.

It's time for an update to let everyone in on the wonderful news. Life is Good --- On October 18, 2006 my husband had a successful heart transplant and we are both enjoying what I can only describe as a miracle. As I think back, it seems that I have been in training for this experience my whole life. We purchased our "boathouse" on Merritt Island, Florida four years ago and continue to be avid boaters. We still maintain our real estate brokerage in Historic Downtown Kissimmee. Would enjoy keeping in touch with classmates!
